National RunOffs Discount

When was the last time you had the opportunity to watch three solid days of back to back, winner take all road racing at a world class facility? It was probably last year at the SCCA Runoffs at Road America. Well, here is your chance to once again see some of the best road-racers in America take to the track in 24 races over three days.

We focus so much of our effort on promoting participation and worker attendance, but the Runoffs is one of motorsports’ true crown jewel events and I encourage everyone to attend the event. September is a beautiful time of year in Wisconsin and SCCA Club Racing drivers put on a great show all weekend long.

I’m pleased to tell you that Road America has extended a special price ticket offer to SCCA members for the 2010 National Championship Runoffs Presented by Subway.

Any current member can purchase a Runoffs Superticket before Sept. 15 for $45 – a $15 discount off the current normal price. Supertickets provide admission to the event Thursday, Sept. 23 through Sunday, Sept. 26 and are currently available for $60 in advance, and $130 at the gate, to the general public.

Inlet Restrictor Inspection

The following memo has been released by the national office for all racers competing under the SCCA General Competition Rules. It outlines a clarification and reccomendation toward the procedure for inlet restrictor inspection.

SCCA IMPACT SFI Certification

Per the attached press release, products manufactured by Impact Racing, LLC prior to 2009 are decertified and do not meet the criteria for SCCA competition as required by our General Competition Rules (GCR). Drivers who have purchased items from Impact Racing, LLC that do not have a date in them should contact Impact Racing, LLC to obtain a letter confirming the manufactured date of their items. If the date of manufacture is prior to 2009, it is the driver’s responsibility to correct the situation.

SCCA is delaying enforcement of the decertification pending further evaluation. More information will be shared as it becomes available.

In the interim each driver should evaluate their personal use of the affected equipment.

National Driver Survey

NeDiv National Driver Survey 2010

Dave Patten of New England Region performed a driver survey to gather information regarding nationally licensed driver's feelings and input toward National races, Double National races, and driver participation at Northeast Division race tracks. Here are the results of that survey presented at the 2010 Northeast Division Roundtable March 13th 2010.
